Funky feet and This is....

Why is everything so much better when you share it with a special friend?

Today was one of those occasions. Dear friend and I went and pampered ourselves at Super Nails. And this is the result! We were so impressed we had to literally stop on the street and take a pic for prosperity.

In other news, Ive had to bend the rules somewhat on this weeks " this is " theme.
This was as close as I was going to get this week to an inspiration board.

That said, Ive always wanted to create one so I cant wait to see everyone elses (check out Angela's blog for inspiration).
Anyway this is my little fabric collection Im throwing together as a couch quilt for the girls. I was going to do this style, but I saw a gorgeous ragged quilt in Amitie today and now Im considering that instead. I couldnt get a clear photo of the one at Amitie, but here's what a ragged quilt looks like.
Now keep in mind Ive never made a quilt before. Which way do you think I should go? I'd love your feedback.

I love those raggedy quilts. I bought a book last week that had instructions on how to make one. I'll scan the pages and email them to you. By the way, love the pretty polish!

I LOVE pedicures! Your toes look so bright and colourful-good on you both for pampering yourself. Your fabrics look great and I think will look wonderful as a raggedy quilt-good luck-look forward to seeing it finished!

I like a ragged number. Forgiving & fun & good for cuddling under.

Oooh those are so pretty. I love the fabric with the flowers on it.
And getting pedicures done with a friend is just so much fun. Glad you had a good time. Have a great day

I love your inspiration board. Both quilts are nice, and I especially love that bird fabric too. Good luck with the quilt. It is very addictive once you start.

The nails look GREAT!!! I love having my feet pampered, it really makes you feel like a new woman... Which toes belong to you??? I'm guessing the bright red!
What a fantastic inspiration board!!! Those fabrics will look gorgeous in a rag quilt. Sorry, but I don't have any advice for you on that front as I've never made one either.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time at Brown Owls, you lucky thing!!! ;)

Oooooo! Nice nails! I love pedicures too. Half the fun is choosing the colour.

ohhh I'm yet to hit amitie, probably too scared I'll spend too much money in there

and french bag is so easy because I knit the base on 2 needles and then you just need to pick up stitches and its all stocking stitch! easy peasy! looks hard but truly it isn't!

I'm with starashan - the bird fabric which I've seen made up in a lot of things... where on earth does this come from? I need to track this down.

Good luck with the first-time quilt... I have yet to venture into that pursuit but won't be far away myself. I'll be keeping an eye on your blog for any beginner tips!
