this is the pair of shoes that I would sleep in if I could..
Im not really a shoe diva however there is something about the chunky, industrial look of the shoes handmade by Melbourne Shoe Designer Johanna Preston (and hubby Peter Zly). Check out their other stuff here. For summer shoes, I also love these. To see the shoes everyone else wants to sleep in, check out Angela's blog.
Thats about all I can manage this week. I've come down with the dreaded lurgy (on Friday Afternoon - how unfair is that!)
Ciao for now
Ok Im back & in need of some advice...
Ive be pottering away at Megs quilt at times today.
I'm almost up to doing the edging. Problem is Ive never done binding before. Basically I just want to fold the backing over the wadding & sew it down with mitred corners. I cant find any tutorials on this technique. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Libby.

Those shoes make my fingers itch to use my credit card!!! I hope you feel better very soon. As far as binding your quilt, I've never done it either but I'm planning on trying this tutorial... http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/photos/continuous_quiltbinding/index.html
Yikes, I wish I could help but I am not a quilter - I would take a look at the tute mentioned in the comment above though , it is good.
It might sound weird but check out youtube, you can find find heaps of instructional sewing tstuff there.
Oh, divine shoes! Hope you feel better soon!
You could also go and buy the next edition of the Australian Quilters Companion (in the back of every edition, they have good tutorials). You'll find this in Borders or Newsagents, or even some of the larger Coles or Safeways have them
I'll take the Avignon clogs...ah red!
Hope you are feeling better by now and enjoying the tail end of the weekend.
hi
I learnt to do binding with the heather tutorial too but it took a few goes and the binding takes no time to make and looks fabulous but you just need some patience to hand sew the back of the binding on but in the end its worth it!
if that fails have you checked your library for a quilting book....ours always has a few that have how to sections
those shoes look great...I just wear birkenstocks everywhere which is pretty boring
Corrie:)
Those shoes are fabulous! I checked out your "summer shoes" link and fell in love with a lot there too.
Someone has already said it, but I learn to do binding off a youtube video. I didn't save the link, but if you have a search there's a lot there.
You asked on my blog about where to get my shoes... sadly, I believe they were a limited edition range and the store doesn't have them anymore :( I grabbed mine just before they all disappeared.
Hope you feel better soon!
Those shoes really are fantastic!
Hope you feel better soon.
Oooh your shoes are gorgeous. Good luck with the binding - hope you've had some luck.
What a beautiful pair of shoes.
Your quilt looks great too. Good luck finishing it off.
Oh i love binding!Get down to Amitie.Im sure Jenny will show you how, face to face is the best way to do it, can be alittle fiddly, good luck!
Love your quilt top - hope you have been able to figure out the binding by now!
I am not sure what the "dreaded lurgy" is but I hope you get over it really quick! I'm not sure if we have that here in Canada or not. It sounds awful!
I love the shoes. They have sparkles which, to me, is a good thing on shoes. I also like your quilt. It has such pretty colours in it. I can never get over how talented people are. Good luck with the binding.
